Dr. Daniel Guth finally proposes marriage to his beloved Miriam and decides to invest in the Alpine Clinic. Now, it appears that nothing can stand in the way of their happiness. When they pick up little Frederik at his friend Kurt’s place, Daniel and Miriam witness a horrible scene. The stables of Kurt’s father, the farmer Armin Kogler, are completely engulfed in flames. While attempting to save the animals from an awful death, Kogler injures his legs so severely that it will require an immediate emergency operation to save them. The new chief doctor Linda Singer does an excellent job and manages to save his legs, but Kogler is still devastated by the thought of the long and painful rehabilitation facing him. For his wife Rosa, the situation is desperate – the source of their income has been reduced to ashes and her man is confined to bed. Although Miriamis happily occupied with the upcoming wedding, it turns out that destiny has other plans: shortly before the wedding, Miriam suddenly collapses and loses consciousness. Daniel attempts to identify the reasons behind her fainting, but her condition only worsens. It’s a race against time for the doctor, with nothing less than the life of his future wife at stake…
